 TRAINING OF DRUG SPECIALISTS
CONTEXT
and challenges
Across the world, ensuring access to quality medicines depends on the ability to train high-level professionals who have a lasting impact on medication- related practices and scientific culture. In low- and middle-income countries – such as Togo and Cambodia, where the WHO reports less than one pharmacist per 10,000 inhabitants – one in ten drugs is of inferior quality or simply counterfeited. In the face of such alarming statistics, the Fondation Pierre Fabre is committed to supporting training for drug specialists:
a long-term investment founded on close partnerships with local academic authorities and French universities to ensure long-lived projects.
